Virtual Careers Event

Having come into effect on 2 January 2018, the new law, commonly known as the Baker clause, stipulates that schools must ensure that a “range of education and training providers” have access to pupils from Year 8 to Year 13, so that they can be informed about what technical education and apprenticeship opportunities. Cansfield students will have many opportunities to explore colleges, training providers, local employers and universities. This is achieved through form period, careers lessons in Years 7 – 9, drop down days for Years 10 and 11, careers fairs, careers cafes, opportunities with GM higher and parent’s evenings.
