At Cansfield High School the views and opinions of our parents really matter. We recognise that the most effective way to teach and engage with our students is in partnership with parents.
In September 2018 our Headteacher, Dr Baker, and members of the Senior Leadership Team met with over 150 parents as part of a parent engagement evening. During this time parents had an opportunity to listen to initial plans for the next stage of the school’s development and to give their views about the shape of the curriculum, the short term plans for the next year and the longer term plans for the school for the next five years. This feedback was then analysed and has been assimilated into our priority areas moving forward. Further large scale meetings with parents are planned for twice every year. We also have various dates in the calendar where parents are encouraged to visit the school when in operation and take a tour led by the Headteacher so they can see how the school functions on a day to day basis.
The school has recently created a Parent Advisory Board. At present 16 parents are members of the Parent Advisory Board and meet with Dr Baker on a termly basis to further explore ways of improving the school and to garner parent feedback.
If you would like to join the Parent Advisory Board or have any specific feedback you would like to share please feel free to contact Dr Baker on firstname.lastname@example.org.
