Aims

Our aims are to:

  • offer students a happy, caring environment where positive achievement is valued and where they learn to work within a clear and disciplined framework.

  • enable all students to acquire the communication skills of literacy, numeracy, oracy and graphicacy.

  • provide every student with a broad and balanced curriculum, which challenges and stretches them to the limits of their abilities.

  • stimulate students’ imagination and curiosity and encourage independent learning.

  • prepare students to live and work with others, respecting authority and their environment, and enabling them to be responsible and successful members of the community.

  • enable students to develop the attitudes and knowledge appropriate for the world of work, further study, and leisure.

  • foster students’ attitudes, adaptabilities and applications, encouraging acquisition of further knowledge, skills and experience.

  • help students to develop aesthetic sensitivity.

  • promote self-esteem and respect for others, so that students become tolerant of people who are different or who have different opinions.

Pupils work to challenging targets. Teachers have high expectations and do much to encourage progress.
