Long established, but constantly changing, Cansfield enjoys a reputation for curriculum excellence, innovation and quality. Student attainment is improving annually across the school. Cansfield teachers, recognised for their skills and professionalism, have amongst them teachers designated as national lead teachers, Advanced Skills teachers, national trainers and INSET providers. 

This school is based on the central notion that we exist for children. Our main priority is that children attain their maximum potential. We recognise that all children achieve at different levels, and we believe that they will achieve personal success if they feel secure, valued and encouraged.

Established as a flagship Specialist College and from 2007 as a Specialist Training School, we have benefited from a multi-million pound investment programme, which has resourced facilities in a bright, modern environment. 

We strive to provide and education that enables every student to meet the challenges and seize the opportunities of the 21^st Century. We want our students to be multi-skilled, adaptable, positive, enthusiastic and able to demonstrate confidence and belief in their abilities.
